What does it mean to be a Certified Lubrication Specialist?

This certification, issued by the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE), is evidence of the individual’s capability of properly troubleshooting, prescribing, surveying, analyzing, and evaluating lubricants. Highly esteemed in the industry, this certification indicates that the individual is well-equipped to provide knowledgeable service.

To give you an idea of the certification’s comprehensiveness, becoming a Certified Lubrication Specialist requires 3 years of experience in the lubrication industry and successfully testing over the following topics (as listed on the STLE website):
